Performance Marketing Manager

Position specific responsibilities:
– Provide trend analysis, benchmark reports, and attribution analysis.
– Strategically optimize paid search campaigns in Google, Bing, and Yahoo towards ROI and CPL goals.
– Manage campaign budgets and bid rules for Hornblower’s family of websites
– Provide suggestions for landing page, creative display, and ad copy testing
– Support data analysis, search query mining, and development of ad hoc reporting.
– Constant adjustment and setting of advanced bid rules
– Stay current with betas to test and new advances in all digital marketing channels

Desired background:
– 2+ years of experience in online marketing
– Proficient with Adwords, Adwords Editor, Bing Adcenter, bulk uploads, and Google Analytics
– Experience with Marin Software, third party remarketing, display advertising and programmatic buying a plus
– Understanding of media planning and media buying
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Strong excel skills with experience in data analysis and presentation
– Proactive, motivated problem solver with ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
– Team player with ability to work independently
– Bachelor’s degree

Search Marketing:
– Prepare Search Marketing reviews and campaign improvement suggestions for prospective clients
– Develop SEM strategies, plans and ideas for new and existing clients, in collaboration with colleagues
– Understand our clients’ business objectives and campaign requirements and match them with the intent and search patterns of their target audiences
– Understand key audience personas, demographics, geos, and motivations
– Generate keyword lists by using online tools, researching competitors and applying creative thinking
– Set up SEM campaigns and ensure integration with tracking systems, with support from colleagues
– Test, track, and analyze campaigns across multiple search engines, optimizing keyword bids, ad copy and landing pages
– Manage SEM budgets to pre-defined cost per lead metrics, analyze keyword costs, and help develop processes for maximizing return-on-investment (ROI)
– Prepare SEM performance reports and campaign reviews for clients
– Stay current with search marketing trends, tools and technologies
– Present performance results to clients, both in person and/or in video conference meetings
– Write effective text ads
– Set up and manage retargeting campaigns
– Analyze and optimize campaigns on a daily basis
– Spot trends, opportunities and problems, and respond proactively
– Use bid management tools to manage keyword bids and improve campaign performance
– Contribute ideas to the SEO Manager for sites and landing pages connected to the clients whose campaigns you manage

Paid Social:
– Research and understand audience groups, demographics, geos, and motivations
– Brief creative and devise copy for paid advertising campaigns on Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media channels
– Set up new Paid Social campaigns, including: Account set up; Campaign set up; Ad copywriting; Report buildout; Bid management set up; QA
– Analyze and optimize campaigns on a daily basis
– Spot trends, opportunities and problems, and respond proactively
– Manage paid social advertising budgets to pre-defined cost per lead metrics, and monitor the pacing of ad budgets
– Run reports to understand performance of various campaigns

– Carry out online client, competitor, market and product research to fully understand the subject matter and marketing opportunities
– Mentor and support junior members of the Performance Marketing team
– Assist with Social Media tasks for Kiosk and our clients
– Assist with Content Generation tasks for Kiosk and our clients
– Pursue relevant certifications (ie Google AdWords, Bing) and ongoing professional development and training
– Other duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements
– 2+ years experience in a full-time search engine marketing role, agency or client side
– A solid understanding of the principles of pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns, online marketing, user experience, search, SEO, and web analytics.
– A strategic mind and creative problem solving skills
– Excellent written/verbal communication and quantitative/analytical skills
– An aptitude for analyzing large datasets to gain insights and drive business decisions
– Experience with Google Adwords and Bing SEM accounts
– A keen interest in new trends and technologies

Nice to have:
– Experience with multivariate testing tools such as Google Website Optimizer or Optimizely
– Bachelors degree in related field
– Familiarity with Marin Software or similar enterprise level bid management software
– Google Adwords Certification
– Experience managing social media campaigns on Facebook and LinkedIn
– Experience creating and implementing SEO plans as part of an integrated search strategy
