E-Commerce specialist and Digital Marketing Director

We are seeking an E-commerce and Digital Marketing Director for our Midtown Manhattan based company. The E-Commerce and Digital Marketing Director manages all aspects of our e-commerce site, its online customer experience and overall digital strategy. In order to achieve sales and growth objectives, the position must effectively manage product, content, marketing, technology, reporting and analytics, as well as ongoing site design and development. The Director will oversee programs to build our digital marketing and social media community, engagement and awareness. Also develop and execute e-mail campaigns and corresponding homepage content scheduling and delivery.

General Responsibilities:
Maintain and advance visual, operational and procedural standards of our e-commerce site.
Lead planning, prioritization and execution of website enhancements and new development with 3rd party service providers.
Ensure optimal website performance, maintain website hosting and security, report and troubleshoot issues and test fixes.
Ensure required hours of operation are covered year-round including holidays.
Mentor and manage e-commerce staff, schedule and train additional department staff as needed.
Support office admin/IT and general office systems.

Product, Sales, and Merchandising Responsibilities:
Establish monthly sales objectives and maintain a marketing and promotions calendar to achieve sales and sell-through goals.
Schedule and maintain current and historical reporting for sales, inventory, sell-through, marketing, traffic and user habits.
Leverage analytics to optimize performance and inform opportunities to target customers, develop marketing and increase sales.
Oversee product selection, work with buyer to achieve ultimate product levels, assortment and replenishment.
Oversee weekly website merchandising with the addition of new arrivals, optimize assortment in each category based on selling and trends.
Plan and oversee new product launches including product photography, retouching, merchandising, inventory, descriptions, SEO and SEM.

Digital Marketing and Social Media:
Communicate brand culture to social followers, develop resources for voice and timely appropriate responses, assist with posting content and syndicate across platforms.
Assist with e-commerce press/marketing strategy and leverage influencer relationships.
Assist with the development and execution of editorial/lookbook concepts, seasonal content and social media strategy to highlight key brand initiatives, products and categories.
Assist with the production of imagery and content for homepage, email, blog, social media and advertising.
Work to optimize email campaigns – content and timing – to maximize return.

Qualifications:
3 – 5 years experience developing and maintaining fashion e-commerce websites.
Commitment to grow with the company and expand opportunities within the business.
Very high level knowledge of Excel and proficiency using Magento, Microsoft Word, Seller Cloud, Photoshop – basic image editing and layout skills. Netsuite — a big plus!
Understanding and aptitude for working with e-commerce technology, platforms, content management systems, analytic tools, basic html.
Experience analyzing business performance, demonstrated success recommending and applying changes to improve site and sales performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience producing cross-platform content for the “shelter space”
• 4-year degree in creative writing or equivalent
• Inbound marketing experience
• Ability to tailor style, tone and voice to various content
• Ability to create, communicate and optimize content based on research and data

• Prior experience producing content for online social media, channels, and blogs
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and CMS Systems
